                                                                                        About Us

Since 1982, Mr. George has produced numerous video programs and presentations of an historical
nature for the public.  A list of his seven different programs can be seen on the programs page.  Each
program lasts 45-60 minutes in length.  These presentations are ideal for all different types of groups
(groups), no matter how large or how small.  For each program Mr. George appears in a military uniform
of the era.  Mr. George will travel anywhere in Ohio to perform one of his programs.

Mr. George has been a Civil War re-enactor with the 9th Ohio Light Artillery since 1992.  He currently
serves as commanding officer of the battery, with the rank of 1st Lieutenant.  Included in the dozens of
Civil War reenactments, parades and ceremonies that he has participated in, he was a part of the
reenactments commemorating the 130th and 135th anniversaries of the Battle of Gettysburg.

In 2003, Mr. George published his first Civil War book:  "Men of the 9th Ohio".  The volunteers who
served in the 9th Ohio came from four northeastern Ohio counties.  The book addresses the battery's
Civil War record (1861-1865) and the genealogical hunt for their grave sites.  The book is often referred
to as, "One Man's Hunt for Civil War Grave Sites".  The details of the book are incorporated into his program of the same name.

In June 2006, Mr. George published his second Civil War related book:  "Civil War Monuments of Ohio".  The book is the first
one ever published based on the monuments located throughout Ohio.  A total of 270 monuments are identified and the exact locations
are listed in a table.  There are over 100 color photographs in this hardbound book.  The details of the book are incorporated into his
program, "Statues in Time . . . Ohio's Civil War Monuments".

In May 2007, his booklet, "DEAD Soldiers at Gettysburg" was published.  The book addresses the casualties encountered
following the Battle of Gettysburg.  It discusses how death was handled prior to the war, as well as during the war; embalming; funeral
practices in the 1800's; and the cost of shipping a body home during the war.  Maps and photographs are provided to display the
locations on the battlefield where the soldiers were originally buried in 1863.  The details of the book  are incorporated into his newest
    program, "DEAD Soldiers at Gettysburg".

In September 2008, his DVD, "Ohio and the American Civil War" was produced.  The DVD addresses four subjects:
Photographs of every civil war monument located in Ohio; identification of the 65 civil war campsites that existed in Ohio; Abraham
Lincoln's two visits to Ohio are reviewed; and the history of the 24 Ohioans, known as "Andrews Raiders", who participated in the
"Great Locomotive Chase" in 1862, are discussed in detail.

In February 2010, his DVD, "Custer's Last Stand" was produced.  On June 25, 1876, a battalion
of 7th Cavalry troopers, under the command of Lt. Colonel George Armstrong Custer, were massacred
at the Battle of the Little Bighorn.  Using a series of "Computer Automated Maps" and "Then & Now"
photographs, the story of Custer's Last Stand is told.

In August 2011, his DVD,
"History of the 9th Ohio Light Artillery" was produced.  It tells the history
of this northern Ohio volunteer Civil War artillery battery, what happened to the men following the war,
and the adventures of the Civil War "Reenacting" organization.

Mr. George retired from the Department of Defense in 1994, after 29 years of service.  When not
writing or performing for the public, Mr. George enjoys photography, travel, fishing and reading.

             Thank You!
