Abraham Lincoln Visits Ohio
     1861 & 1865

    Background:

In February 1861, president-elect Abraham Lincoln spent five
days visiting Ohio.  He would return to Ohio once again, when
his funeral train passed through in 1865.

Following the same train route, I traveled throughout Ohio to
locate and photograph the original railroad depots where
Lincoln visited.  Through research, photographs of the original
train depots were obtained.  Photographs of the same location
were taken in 2009.  Comparisons to the 1861 & 1865
    photographs were then made.

    Program:

”Then and Now” photographs of the train depots will be shown; railroads & equipment
in the 1860’s will be discussed; security for the presidential visit in Ohio will be
addressed; maps displaying the train route; and memorial markers erected throughout
    the state.

In 2009, the results were published in my CD-ROM book, “Abraham Lincoln Visits Ohio”
